It's Worth Your Time. (it better be, it took a LOT of mine)

Hey guys, decided to take a break from studying for training at bubba gump(yay i got the job) to tell you guys a bit about your summer and fall viewing options.

There is a LOT of ground to cover so bare with me. I'll try to keep it organized and my thoughts on the shows easy to understand.

Before i get into Summer shows, let me just tell you i'm crapping my pants LEFT and RIGHT from these season finales. HOLY CRAP. I've cried at EVERY single one. SO much death and crazy twists. and theres still a week and a half left. Ok. Rant over. Tomorrow is bones so i'm sure there will be another rant soon.

OK.

This summer is looking good. I have 6 shows to watch instead of 3 this year so i'm a little more occupied and i'm glad for it. However i'll try to highlight other shows besides the ones I watch that are coming up incase you guys don't know when your shows are starting or whatever the case may be.

* signifies a personal favorite or guilty pleasure
** signifies that i'll be watching
*** signifies that i'll be watching and don't bother me or i'll yell at you.

That was Brutal........

Speaking of BRUTAL, the pilots a lot of networks have tried pumping out this year look like CRAP.
Case in Point- WHITNEY

this is just about everything cliche and annoying about comedies.

Soooo to help you guys out i'll show you my top picks for next year so you guys dont have to watch all the CRAP promos most of the pilots have.

My Top 5:

Awake (NBC)is about a man who live his life with his son after his wife dies in a car accident. He wakes up spends time with his son, goes to therapy, then goes to sleep. Then he wakes up in the arms of his wife, in a world where is son died in that car accident and his wife survived. He goes to work as a cop in both lives, with different partners, and different cases, and different shrinks never knowing IF and WHEN he is really Awake. Inception that tugs at your heart. Plus it has Lucius Malfoy. What more could you ask for?

New Girl (FOX)is about a girl who awkwardly gets dumped by her boyfriend after dancing naked for him while his OTHER girlfriend watches. She obviously needs a new place so she moves in with 3 guys who hope to cash in on her model friends. In the process they help her muster up her self confidence and she helps them by being freaking adorable.

Alcatraz (FOX)is another show about an island staring HURLEY from LOST. Hold up. Its worth checking out. Its hard to explain so just take a look-see.

Unforgettable (CBS) is about a woman with Hyperthymesia. I have a thing for characters with unique medical issues (i.e. Haven, a character cant feel pain, cold, heat, etc accept when his partner audrey touches him) Hyperthymesia is when someone can remember EVERYTHING. So this show is about going into this woman's mind as see recalls EVERYTHING perfectly and uses the information to help her solve cases. Pretty interesting.. we'll see how it does but i'll def be checking it out.

Person of Interest (CBS)is about a homeless veteran assassin of some sort who gets pulled off the street by a man played by Michael Emerson (ben on lost!) who tells him he has a job for him. Help prevent murders based on numbers on a list on a wall. This looks like its going to be a mind F*ck. LOVE IT. Check out the preview.

honorable mentions:

A Gifted Man- (CBS)A man is the only one who can see the spirit of his wife. It looks emotional and it has Raul from phantom of the opera, but i question its longevity.

I Hate My Teenage Daughter- (FOX) It looks funny, and i can totally relate to hating the girls who were bitches in school...idk if i'll watch it religiously. It IS hilarious though. And Raising Hope was a gem this year..i MAY make room for another comedy..maybe..

Prime Suspect- I feel like i've heard this title before...i wanna see this woman kick every dudes ass. This cop fraternity is all Dicks and one Jane. LOL. Check it out. you'll root for her.

And LAST but not LEAST is Smash. Its a grown up glee for all of the kids in all of us. If that makes sense...BTW the cast is PHENOMENAL, and Steven Spielburg is behind it. I think all my theatrical/musical friends will like it. Ever wanted to put on your own broadway show when nobody thought you could? So did Will Schuester but since we want him at Mckinley lets give these guys a try. Staring Katherine McFee, Jack Davenport, Anjelica Huston, Deborah Messing, Christian Borle( for hannah, he was Emit in legally blonde the musical on broadway) =]

OK. well thats about it. I think i'm going to go pass out now. Thanks for letting me talk about my favorite subject=]

I'm really curious to hear your feedback on things!

xoxo

  1. Mk. FIRST of all, I'm the saddest EVER that Human Target was canceled. It was brilliant. Funny, exciting, well-written. Sigh. I wish it were coming back.

Second of all, "Awake" looks AMAZING. I might have to get into that one. And there are some really good crime dramas coming out that I'm super excited for. They'll be a good way to get over the grief I'm experiencing over losing "Lie To Me". Like...Unforgettable looks phenomenal. I hope it lasts.

Question: Do you know if all/any/which ones of these will play on Hulu? That's how I watch TV these days being as I be broke.

Well done! This blog was definitely worth the time it took to write it. I was hoping to find out what shows were worth looking into next fall. Also, it's pretty much my favorite ever that you gave my due date a shout-out. =D

  2. I know that ABC shows get directed from hulu to their designated websites but you can still find the links. The thing with hulu is they are annoying and don't have every episode available all the time. only about 5 episodes at a time..Fox, Nbc, Cbs are all pretty much gonna be on Hulu. CW gets redirected to their sight but their site is STUPID and doesn't work..

However if you ever need a link to ANY episode of just about ANY show just let me know and i'll get ya one. I know my way around tv online. That way in the future if you miss your show or they don't have it on hulu then you can still watch=]

  4. bahahahaha <3 you Gare! So devastated about V! but ah well, can't wait for my summer shows! all of yours plus Leverage! *drool*

Also, I'm not sure If they're coming out summer or fall but two shows I think you should check out are "The Playboy Club" and "Grimm," both of which are NBC. "Grimm" is especially very you (us) and looks like it could either be amazing or truly awful.

    Here are the trailers:

  5. First - Congrat's on the job!! Great blog... so much to think about for summer/fall viewing. I think I'm saddest about the cancellation of Detroit 1-8-7 - it was really, really good - great cast. It's such a crap shoot so much of the time! It's amazing when you think of how many pilots get made and how few actually get picked up - and how few of those are actually good! I'm really looking forward to Person of Interest - and I thought CBS had a comedy that looked interesting too - "Your Roommate's a Bitch" - or something like that... I think Prime Suspect was Helen Mirren's long running cop drama on the BBC...
